Modern housing construction is essentially stuck in a pre-industrial mode. Most product categories enjoy advanced manufacturing techniques like robotics and other innovations. However, the majority of houses and other buildings are still being nailed together on site, by hand, in an expensive and inefficient manner. This has led to massive labor shortages and high costs that are slowing growth. The Boxabl vision is to spearhead a massive disruption of the building industry by creating a standardized but fully customizable building system that allows for the true mass production of buildings. Along with mass production will come a whole new set of economics for the industry.
The Boxabl project was conceived by founder Paolo Tiramani to address serious limitations in housing construction technology. Paolo has a proven track record of creating new, billion dollar product categories. His work includes 50+ patents spanning, automotive, construction to medical and housework.
Boxabl parent company 500 Group inc, recently announced they will commit additional funding to develop the project. This includes setting up headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada, beginning a pilot production facility, continuing R&D, intellectual property filings, and refining further innovations.
